Flights are tournaments designed with a flat prize structure to be welcoming for players of all skill level and experience. The events will be limited to four swiss rounds. A player will receive a booster pack of Aether Revolt for every match victory in the tournament. Each round our tournament software will attempt to match you with a player with the same or similar record. So even if you have lost your first three rounds there is still a chance to take home an extra pack in the final round. In addition to the previously mentioned boosters, extra packs will be awarded to players winning 3 or more matches and players with four match wins will receive a special Star City Games Creature collection playmat featuring Red Panda Chandra and the Gamer’s Gauntlet logo.
The Main Event
The main event is designed for a higher level of competition than the Flight events. The prizing is much more top heavy. The prize pool will consist of 3.5 packs per player. The top 8 players will receive a share of the prize pool and a Star City Games event playmat. The event will be run with swiss rounds based on attendance followed by a top cut.
This is one of our most popular team events. You and a teammate will combine a pair of sealed pools, to make two decks and play against other teams. We will have a number of swiss rounds based on attendance and cut to the top 4 for single eliminations rounds. The prize pool will feature 8 boosters per team and will be awarded to top teams based on attendance.
